Janna + Mike's Engagement

I love great quotes. The best quotes, like the one above, usually come from people who have endured some of life's greatest challenges and have learned and grown from them. This is the way I see relationships work out, when we learn and grow in them. I get excited when I think about what sort of life each couple will live together and how the memories from today will affect tomorrow.

Janna and Mike are featured on today's engagement session post. We photographed at the Tidal Basin, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Haines Point Park all on a Saturday morning at 7:30am. We've had brief conversations before through Skype and e-mail, but I got to learn so much more about Janna and Mike that morning. They're a silly couple and I mean that in all the best ways. We talked, joked, and the whole time they were completely comfortable in their own skin. There's a high degree of intimacy and connection in these photos, but I also wanted to explore this cute, silly side of the couple. You'll see a mix of these in today's post with Janna and Mike!
